The story

This is “M”e. Also know as Balas Mihai to the Police.

This blog is the product of my boredom combined with the lack of occupation plus my new hobby .. photography (actually is not new,  just been instated as a hobby).

The aim is to learn about photography as much as I can by doing exactly that … photography. There will be learning in the process (when the time will allow it, because I was kidding about the boredom) most of which will be self thought and the rest from photo-blogs, professional photographers, articles and so on. If I will find something truly interesting and worth publishing, I will off course publish it here, so the other 2 persons viewing the blog can read about it (thanks mom and Voicu – presented bellow)

The role of the blog in this process is to keep me focused on shooting (learning) and recording the process (if any). The aim is to post 1 picture/day, everyday. For that I enlisted the help of my friend Voicu (mentioned 2 sec. ago) who is also a hobby photographer-beginner-rubbish like me, only better. If for some reason I can not publish, he will be the one in charge.

And now … the serious facts:

I was born in 1983, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania (Google it…). I studied architecture and love pretty much every technical thing. I now work in the architectural field – designing buildings (houses and so on) and actively participating in the construction process (site surveillance and detail drawings for contractors). My hobbies are sports (almost every kind), travel, cars and pretty recently photography. I started paying more attention to photography in the middle of 2009, shooting with a borrowed camera (Canon 350D) from my friend, and decided to get my own this year. For some reasons I convinced my self to get a bridge camera in the beginning, to get used to all the settings and workings of photography … did that … bought the new (then, May-June 2010) Nikon P100 model. You can anticipate by my tone that I have some regrets in certain ways, but still I’m happy with it, and it will be ok for at least 1 year. Plans for the future (in photography) … just to get better. If I can get some advantages out of this, I won’t mind, but for now the aim is only pleasure.

I must add that the pictures on this blog are submitted to copyright law, and are protected as assets of the owner, in this case, me.

If you want to purchase some pictures for your work, use in media etc, there will be a fee involved, not sure what that would be thou but also the pictures will be at least 6mb. Prints are not available for purchase right now, need to arrange collaboration with a printing/shipping shop (for more detailed info’s, also use email).
